The Jester

Artist Sally Roe is exhibiting her artwork “Jester” at Mullumbimbys smallest Gallery in the shire  from the June 5th to July 3rd, the CUBE which is located in the foyer of the Council building. Sallys inspiration for the wily Jester, is the archetype of the fool at the beginning of the Major Arcana in the tarot, he is also the cunning, capricious Loki in Norse Mythology.

Sally says  “Everything feels a little bit tricky at the moment and my plans have gone ridiculously skewiff. The fool doesn't know where he’s going and he doesn't care, he seems to trust that life will support him, I can relate to that. I’ve been based in Brunswick Heads for over a year and find myself travelling from Brisbane to Byron. As a qualified Art Therapist and Artist I passionately believe creativity is the catalyst for transformation.

Curator Deborah Gower says, “The art space affectionately known as the CUBE continues to attract a lot of attention from both locals and visitors to the Shire. Since its inception ten years ago The CUBE has featured a wide variety of local, national and internationally acclaimed artists. The depth and range of the artistic talent in Byron Shire is amazing and I am proud to be able to continue to exhibit the best our region has to offer”
